The FBI in Connecticut has closed its investigation into the deadly school shooting that claimed the lives of 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School in December 2012. Authorities have determined that the shooter, Adam Lanza, was the sole perpetrator of the attack.
In a press conference held Tuesday, FBI Supervisory Special Agent William P. Reiner announced that the investigation had concluded after more than two years of meticulous work.
“We have meticulously examined all aspects of this case, including the shooter's background, mental health, and the events leading up to the shooting,” said Reiner. “Our analysis has led us to the unwavering conclusion that Lanza acted alone and was responsible for the deaths of these innocent victims.”
